St. Vincent Pallotti names Kenny Lucas as Head Football Coach

St. Vincent Pallotti High School has announced the appointment of Kenny Lucas as its new head football coach and facilities operations director, a move that signals a strong commitment to its football program, which has appeared in the last two MIAA B Conference championship games.

Lucas arrives in Laurel as a multi-award-winning football coach and respected athletic administrator with more than three decades of experience across the high school, college and professional levels. Known as a visionary leader and culture-builder, Lucas has made it his mission throughout his career to create inclusive, high-performance environments where student-athletes succeed academically, athletically, and personally.

In addition to a successful stint in the MIAA at Annapolis Area Christian School, his extensive coaching resume includes head football coaching stops at Hayfield Secondary School, Bishop O’Connell High School, Gonzaga College High School and Archbishop Carroll High School, along with serving as a head coach at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Lucas has also held assistant coaching and football operations roles at Howard University and Morgan State University, further strengthening his experience at the collegiate level.

Beyond coaching, Lucas has served as an athletic director at Archbishop Carroll, worked as an assistant coach for Team USA during the 2012 World Bowl and International Bowl, and completed a prestigious fellowship with the Pittsburgh Steelers, adding professional-level insight to his background.

Lucas’ influence extends well beyond the football field. He has served on emergency response teams and administrative boards.

Lucas recently met with Pallotti’s football student-athletes to introduce himself and outline his vision for the program, marking the first step in what school leaders believe will be a new era for Panthers football.
