In a high scoring MIAA B Conference basketball affair in Ellicott City, Tuesday, Annapolis Area Christian School opened the New Year with an 81-75 victory over host Chapelgate Christian Academy.

Cameron Williams paced three Eagles in double-figures as he scored a team-high 18 points in the victory.

Foster Joseph and Jordan Johnson each added 16 points for AACS (8-5 overall, 1-0 MIAA B), which built a 47-35 lead in the first half before Chapelgate rallied to within six points after three quarters.

Chapelgate big man Jason Murphy turned in a sensational performance for the Yellow Jackets (5-10, 0-2 MIAA B), scoring a game-high 29 points. Montaz McCray added 16 and Cliff McEachin scored 10 for Chapelgate.

Although they netted 33 field goals, the Yellow Jackets will lament the fact that they only converted seven of 20 free throw attempts in the six point loss.
