Greyhounds blank Boys’ Latin, 4-0

Luke Unger scored a goal and added one assist and No. 18 Gilman built a 3-0 first half lead, as the Greyhounds cruised to a 4-0 season-opening MIAA non-league victory over visiting Boys’ Latin, Tuesday in Roland Park.

Rain, heavy at times, prevailed throughout the contest, but it did not seem to hamper Gilman, which also got single goals from Avery Merlo, Jack Stuzin and Tyler Martinez. Cole Brown and Dennis Khranovich also contributed assists.

The Gilman defense allowed just one shot on goal which was stopped by freshman goalkeeper Grant Farley. Gilman will open MIAA A Conference on Friday at home as it takes on No. 9 Loyola Blakefield.
