What a difference one year has made at St. Frances Academy. After a 2-10 campaign including a winless mark in the MIAA A Conference in 2015, the Panthers enjoyed a resurrection this fall, winning the area’s premier conference. The east Baltimore school is No. 1 in the final VSN Football Top 20.

St. Frances went undefeated (6-0) in MIAA A play, beating two No. 1 teams, McDonogh School and Archbishop Spalding. The Panthers’ only losses were to New Jersey non-public Group 4 state champ Paramus Catholic and Florida’s IMG Academy, ranked 2nd in the nation by USA Today.

Spalding and McDonogh are 2nd and 3rd, respctively, with Class 3A state finalist Franklin coming in at No. 4. Annapolis, which reached its first state semifinal (4A) in more than a decade rounds out the Top 5.
