Third-ranked McDonogh turned in a dominating effort on its home field, Wednesday, routing visiting Archbishop Spalding, 5-1, in MIAA A Conference soccer action.

Five different Eagles scored in the contest as Casey Settleman, Aidan Welsh, Jacob Steinberg, Ethan Rosman and Matt Owusu all tallied a goal.

McDonogh improved to 4-2 with the win and the Eagles are now 3-2 in the A Conference, where they are just 3 points back of first place Calvert Hall and one point behind second-place Archbishop Curley.

Spalding (0-5, 0-3) continues to seek its first victory of the year.
