Boys and girls pool play begins on Thursday as the battle for spots in Sunday’s playoffs gets started; Under Armour Senior All-American games will take place Saturday evening
After tryouts from coast-to-coast and the formation of regional teams in each division, the 2018 Under Armor Underclassmen tournaments are set to get underway on Thursday on fields on the campus of Towson University.
There are four divisions, two each for boys and girls. The Command Division is for players who will be in the 9th and 10th grades in the fall and Highlight Division features players who will be juniors and seniors this fall.
There are 12 teams in each division, all from the same regions, which include:
CONNY (Connecticut/New York)
Upstate New York
All fo the Baltimore teams are in the A Pool with Washington, DC, MidWest and CONNY. The B Pool includes New England, Philadelphia, South and Upstate New York, while the C Pool is comprised of Long Island, New Jersey, Southwest and West.
The Command Division begins play on afternoon, while the Highlight Division begins play on Friday, June 29. All teams play four games in Pool/Division Play and a minimum of one game in the playoffs/consolation round.
Sunday will include playoffs and consolation games for all four divisions.
The weekends festivities will also include showcase games featuring the top uncommitted players, boys and girls, from the classes of 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. And, of course, the highlight of the weekend will be the Boys and Girls Senior All-American Games which will take place on Saturday evening at Johns Hopkins University.
The girls game will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the boys game will face-off at 8:00 p.m.
