St. Paul’s, which currently sits in third place in the MIAA A Conference baseball standings, gained ground on both teams in front of it, Wednesday, as the Crusaders ripped visiting McDonogh, 10-1.

Jon Clemons and Collin Martin each homered for St. Paul’s, while Jake Sebastian drove in three runs. Martin had 2 RBI.

In addition, Clemons, Kevin Madden, Matt Davis and Martin all had two hits for St. Paul’s (11-10, 8-5), while Spencer Horwitz was 1-for-1, with 3 walks, 2 runs scored and a RBI.

Tony Shultz went the distance to earn the win on the mound, allowing just four hits, including a solo home run to Paul DiPino for McDonogh’s only run. Shultz struck out 7 and walked 3.

McDonogh fell to 4-10 in the conference with the loss.
