Host St. Paul’s broke open a tight game, in the fourth quarter, and pulled away for a 61-49 MIAA B Conference basketball victory over Chapelgate Christian, Wednesday night in Brooklandville.

The Crusaders, who continue to lead the Black Division of the B Conference had four players score in double figures in the victory.

Senior Michael Ward netted a team-high 14 points, followed closely by 13 from junior Trayon Wrght. Junior AJ Sawyer added 11 points and sophomore Ziggy Reid scored 10.

St. Paul’s (11-6 overall, 6-1 B Conference) led by five at the half, but Chapelgate inched within one after three quarters. The Yellow Jackets got a game-high 18 points, as well as 13 points and nine blocks from center Jason Murphy.

Cliff McEachin scored 11 points for Chapelgate (9-13, 2-5) and Jalen Morant had nine points and five assists.
