No. 7 St. Paul’s got a much needed win in MIAA A Conference lacrosse, Tuesday, as the Crusaders pulled away from No. 13 Archbishop Spalding for 13-7 to win, their first in league play this spring.
Mitch Gordon was the top scorer for the Crusaders with 4 goals and 3 assists, while Alex Rode played well in the cage recording 12 saves. Joe Pollard, Logan Posner, Brendan Tscherne and Keegan Pearl each tallied twice. Pearl scored an acrobatic goal, laying on his back on the turf and firing it one-handed into the net, and he also dished out two assists. Matt Mayer added a single goal, while Pollard, Patrick Karey, and Jackson Woodward added single helpers.
Emerson Sodergreen led Spalding with a goal and an assist. Brett Baucia, Luke Legnard, Philip turner, Bijan Olexo and Niklas McFarland each added solo tallies. Goalie Ryder Bracket made 10 saves in the Cavalier nets.
Spalding is now 6-7 on the season and 0-3 in league, while the Crusaders improved their overall record to 9-5 and 1-2 in league play.
