Host St. Paul’s allowed an early goal, Thursday at Mimi DiPietro Ice Rink in Patterson Park, and then scored four straight to defeat Calvert Hall, 4-1, in MIAA A Conference ice hockey.

The Crusaders got the equalizer with a power play goal by senior Ian Powderly and went on top, in the second period, when freshman Roscoe Eade fired a shot that rebounded to Jennings Schweizer who crashed the far post for a 2-1 lead.

Calvert Hall carried the action early in the third period as they attempted to draw even, but Stevie Baker broke the Cardinals’ back with a short-handed goal assisted by Powderly. Freshman George Haigley put the finishing touches on the victory with his first varsity goal.
