The St. John’s Catholic Prep baseball team has dominated the MAA C Championship the last three years and, with seven starters back from last year’s 14-1 team, the Vikings are once again favored to once again prevail int he C.

Leading the way will be junior AJ Javitt, a hard-throwing left-handed pitcher, who also plays at first base and in the outfield. Javitt batted .525 last spring and led Frederick County in home runs.

Middle infielders Reagan Mills and Zach Barberich are also expected to have solid seasons, both at the plate and on the mound, while senior second-baseman Kyle Mummy and senior first-baseman Alex Morgan return to anchor the right side of the infield. In addition, junior Seth McRoberts, who started at shortstop last year, is moving to catcher to fill a hole for SJCP

The Vikings are also excited by some young talent expected to breakthrough in 2017, including sophomore Ricke Street (OF/P) and freshmen Andres Enriquez (OF/P/C), Samuel Carretta (LHP/OF) and Gregory Solek (LHP/OF).
