Fresh off a pair of season-opening losses to out of town powers, this weekend, in the Shirts vs. Skins Classic, No. 8 St. Frances opened its MIAA A Conference and Baltimore Catholic League schedules with a win, Monday, pulling away from visiting Archbishop Spalding in the third quarter for a 70-59 victory.

Spalding (3-2, 0-1 MIAA, 0-1 BCL), led by Buzz Anthony’s game-high 29 points competed and actually finished the first quarter with a one point lead, 17-16. The Panthers battled back to lead 33-30 at the half before outscoring the Cavaliers 21-12 in the third quarter to take control of the game.

Jordan Goodwin paced the St. Frances (1-2, 1-0 MIAA, 1-0 BCL) scoring with a team-high 22 points, as he connected on four 3-pointers. Early Penn scored 14 points for the Panthers and Rejear Jones added 12.
