No. 1 Panthers run streak to 14; Baldwin finishes with 16 (VIDEO HERE!!)

Sophomore point guard Adrian Baldwin had 16 points and eight assists and Elijah Epps added 14 points as No. 1 St. Frances Academy defeated Calvert Hall College, 86-61, in a MIAA A Conference/Baltimore Catholic League match at Phelps Gym in east Baltimore.

The Panthers (29-2 overall, 15-0 MIAA A, 12-0 BCL) outscored the Cardinals, 48-26, in the second half, extending their winning streak to 14. Freshman reserve Detwan Montague scored all 14 of his points in the second half and Edward Ferguson finished with 10. Jordan Toles had seven points, 11 rebounds and five assists.

Logan Curtis had a game-high 24 points for Calvert Hall (7-16, 6-8 MIAA A, 3-8 BCL), and University of Rhode Island recruit Brendan Adams added 12. The loss drop the Cardinals into a tie with Loyola Blakefield (6-8) for the fourth and final MIAA A postseason berth out the Red Division.

Friday, St. Frances takes on Loyola on Coach Jerry Savage Court where the hosts have given the East Chase Street school fits the last several years. The Dons defeated the Panthers, 71-68, last season, and, 64-59, in 2014.

St. Frances has won four times at Blakefield since 2012, but only by a total margin of 19 points (two one-point decisions).
