Archbishop Spalding picked up its first boys’ basketball victory of the season, Tuesday, as the Cavaliers traveled to East Baltimore and downed Archbishop Curley, 54-38, in a MIAA non-league contest.

Spalding (1-1) led wire-to-wire, but the host Friars hung close until the final quarter, when the Cavaliers closed with a 19-11 spurt to put away the victory.

Buzz Anthony scored 14 points to lead the Cavaliers and Barry McCormick added 11.

Malik Wright led Curley with nine points, while Deion Booker and Keon Adams scored eight each.
