Sixth-ranked Severn entered its regular season lacrosse finale, Tuesday, knowing it controlled its own playoff destiny. The Admirals took that knowledge to heart in the first quarter as they scored six times to propel themselves to an 11-7 MIAA A Conference win over Archbishop Spalding.
The victory clinched the sixth seed for the Admirals and they will travel to third-seeded St. Paul’s on Friday for a quarterfinal battle. The pair played an outstanding game earlier this month at Severn, with St. Paul’s escaping with a 9-8 victory.
Charlie Olmert scored 4 times to lead the Admirals (15-6, 4-5) and Dylan Gergar netted 3 goals. Michael Lamon added 2 goals and 2 assists and Andrew Volk and Jakob Lilly had single tallies.
Bryce Garretson scored 2 goals to lead Spalding, while Luke Legnard and Brett Baucia each had 1 goal and 1 assist. Brian Morusiewicz and Emerson Sodergreen also scored 1 goal each.
