Dons defeat Spalding in BCL opener

The Loyola Blakefield basketball team is off to a 3-0 start after defeating Archbishop Spalding, 57-45, in Monday’s Baltimore Catholic League opener for both schools.

Cameron Shaw led all scorers with 22 points and JJ Halaby scored 17, including a 13-of-14 performance from the free throw line. Loyola led just 26-24 at the half, but outscored the Cavaliers 19-10 in the fourth quarter to pull away.

Austin Heller and Rene Alphonso combined for 21 points to lead Spalding.
