Todd and Doing each register hat-tricks in victory over MSJ

In its MIAA A Conference lacrosse opener, Tuesday, Severn jumped out to a big second quarter lead and cruised to an 11-8 win on a chilly afternoon in Severna Park.

After a scoreless opening quarter, Severn’s offense woke up with goals from Jacob Todd, Trey Dring and Chase Hallam. Both Todd and Doing finished with hat-tricks and Todd added three assists. Hallman also provided a pair of helpers.

Severn’s defense, lead by goalkeeper Will Perez, Jr. (13 saves), held the visiting Gaels to just three goals until halfway through the fourth quarter. Jamison Wildt, Kijana Lloyd, Cole Keefer and Nick Sotiropoulos were physical and communicative throughout the entire afternoon. Midfielder Justin Queen added a goal and an assist, while Mason Ervin, Andrew Beard and face-off specialist Reid Gills (13 face-off wins) each added a goal.

Severn is now 5-1 overall and St. Joe is 3-1.
