No. 20 Admirals take over first place in the MIAA B Conference with their eighth straight win


In a showdown of the top two soccer teams in the MIAA B Conference thus far this season, No. 20 Severn handed No. 19 St. Mary’s its first loss of 2021 as the host Admirals captured an impressive 3-1 victory Friday afternoon.

Colin McCarthy got Severn on the board, with an assist from Andrew Beard. McCarthy then assisted on the Admirals second goal, scored by Hudson Lamb. Beard then capped the scoring with an unassisted tally.

Severn outshot St. Mary’s 11-2 and had a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Admirals have now won eight straight games and they are 8-1 overall. The lead the B Conference with a 6-0 league record. The Saints are now 6-1 overall and in the league.
