Severn received a strong challenge from Archbishop Spalding, Monday, but the Admirals were able to maintain their undefeated record and prevail over the Cavaliers, 3-2, in the MIAA B Conference tennis championship match.

Severn won two singles matches and No. 1 doubles to pull out the win.

Spalding’s Zack Eckel won at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-3, over Ryan Andrews. The Admirals picked up wins from Henry Creamer, 6-3, 6-0 over Ben McGuire at No. 2 singles, and Eric Resnick, 6-2, 6-0 over Ryan Martin at No. 3 singles.

The Admirals got the final point they needed at No. 1 doubles team when Isaac Huang and Graham Hardig prevailed 6-2, 6-0 over Ryan Baldwin and David Blanchard. Spalding got its second point at No. 2 doubles, Jake Trevey and Ben Trevey defeated Brett Weinstein and Nate Roche, 6-4, 1-6, 1-0(5).
