Eggington scores twice as the Bruins defeat Boys’ Latin
Park School continued its strong start to the 2017 MIAA B Conference soccer season, Monday, as the Bruins defeated visiting Boys’ Latin, 2-1, in Brooklandville.
The Bruins (4-0 overall) improved to 3-0 in league play with senior captain Xandi Eggington leading the way with a pair of goals.
After a number of early attacks on goal, Egginton capitalized with a goal on a nice setup from fellow captain Liam Bannon. The initial goal, with 21:23 left in the first half, would be the only scoring for a while, until Eggington struck again, this time on a feed from sophomore Jack Meyers with just over 22 minutes left to play in the second half.
Boys’ Latin would net their only goal, with just 1:43 left in the game, on an unassisted shot from Ryan Evans.
Boys’ Latin falls to 0-3-1 with the loss. Park, which is one point behind first-place Friends School in the B Conference, will face Annapolis Area Christian on Friday afternoon while Boys’ Latin takes on St. Mary’s, next Monday.
