Five in double figures as St. Frances dominates Glenelg Country
Junior forward Cortez Johnson and freshman Derik Queen each scored 14 points as St. Frances Academy posted an 84-38 victory over Glenelg Country School in a MIAA A Conference basketball game in East Baltimore Wednesday evening.
Senior guards Elijah Davis and Byron Ireland, and sophomore shooting guard Jahnathan Lamothe each finished with 10 points for the Panthers (10-0 overall), who led 34-8 after one period and 46-15 at halftime. St. Frances, which has won three straight Baltimore Catholic League Tournament titles, have won all 10 of its games by an average of 31 points.
Kamal Francis led Glenelg Country School with 10 points. The Dragons, who have dropped eight straight, host Loyola Blakefield Friday evening.
St. Frances travels to Annapolis Area Christian School Friday. Next week, the Panthers host Archbishop Spalding and Mount St. Joseph in key Baltimore Catholic League contests.
