Jackson leads Panthers over No. 16 McDonogh with 17 points

Despite a 4-1 start in non-conference play, the St. Vincent Pallotti boys basketball team had come up short in its first three league games in the MIAA A Conference. The Panthers ended that streak, Wednesday, with a 62-52 win at No. 17 McDonogh.

Four Panthers scored in double figures led by 17 points from Wade Jackson, a Loyola University in Maryland commit. Bryce Walker and Anthony Blunt added 13 points each and Warren Mouganda scored 10.

Pallotti (5-4 overall, 1-3 MIAA A) scored just nine first quarter points and trailed by five points, but the Panthers rallied back within two at the half. Pallotti then flashed its defense, allowing just seven third quarter points, to surge in front before pulling away in the fourth quarter.

The loss was the fifth straight for McDonogh (5-8 overall, 2-2 MIAA A).
