Pantehrs hold off a late surge by the Greyounds
St. Vincent Pallotti travelled to Baltimore to take on Gilman, on Wednesday, in an MIAA A Conference basketball battle and held off a late surge by the host Greyhounds to win, 72-65.
Pallotti led 33-24 at half and came out strong in the third quarter, going up by as many as 16. Gilman rallied to score 28 points in the 4th quarter and cut the lead to five with under two minutes to go in the game. Brandon Madison scored 16 points in the second half, and 21 for the game, to help keep Gilman close.
Pallotti’s Steve Cannady went 10-10 from the free throw line in the 4th quarter to seal the victory and matched Madison for game-high scoring honros with 21. Miles Mallory added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Panthers.
