Cardinals late inning rally falls short

Back from a 2-2 swing through Florida, No. 6 Calvert Hall host Georgetown Prep, Saturday afternoon in Towson and for the second time this week Prep picked off an MIAA A Conference baseball power with a 6-4 victory over the Cardinals.

Georgetown Prep, which defeated Archbishop Curley earlier in the week, scored three runs in fourth inning and three more in the fifth to take a 6-0 lead. Calvert Hall (3-3) battled back with a single run in the sixth and three in the seventh, but the Cards late rally came up short.

Calvert Hall shortstop Jose Torres went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and Peter Marchineck tripled home a run. Parker Landwehr also had a hit and an RBI for the Cardinals.
