Quarterback Evan Fochtman and tailback Julius Chestnut combined for 219 yards rushing and, with Chestnut scoring three touchdowns in a 49-0 non-conference football blowout of visiting Avalon, Saturday.

The Cavaliers opened the scoring in the first quarter with a pick-six from DaeSean Winston and De’Sean Spencer also returned an interception for a score, in the third quarter, to help the defense also put its stamp on the shutout victory.

Chestnut ran for scores of 6-, 3- and 1-yard, all in the second quarter as the Cavs built a 28-0 halftime lead. In the third quarter Fochtman, who also passed for 104 yards, connected with Jayden Umbarger for a 24-yard score. Jared Inniss capped the scoring with a 21-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

The Cavaliers are now 3-1 on the season and they will visit No. 11 and unbeaten Loyola next Friday to kickoff the MIAA A Conference season.
