Cavs break a scoreless tie with a five-run third
Second-ranked Archbishop Spalding scored five times in the bottom of the third inning, to break open a scoreless game, Saturday morning at Spalding, and the Cavaliers went on to defeat Nobe & Greeough (MA), 7-2.
Spalding (3-1) got eight hits in the ballgame from eight different players, with Austen Bishop leading the way with a double and three RBI. Ben Wieman also had a double and scored a run.
Nate Vermillion tossed five innings for the win. He allowed three hits and one run. Noah Mrotek and Josh Moylan both tossed an inning, with Moylan striking out two in the final inning.
