Undefeated Dons pound No. 20 Dulaney, 48-24
No. 13 Loyola continued the impressive start to its 2019 football season, Friday at Blakefield, pounding visiting and No. 20 Dulaney, 48-24, in a contest that was not as close as the final score indicated.
The Dons (3-0) scored on the game’s first play from scrimmage and scored three times in the second quarter to build a 27-0 lead on the Lions. In the second quarter, Kaire Umoja scored on a 6-yard run, before junior quarterback Jordan Moore threw a touchdown pass to senior Keegan Pross and rushed for a touchdown.
Dulaney had a chance to build some momentum after scoring a touchdown in the final minute of the first half, but the Lions fumbled away the opening kickoff of the third quarter, leading to quick TD toss from Moore to Ben Schleiff and the rout was on.
Later in the third quarter, Moore connect with Pross for another touchdown pass and Umoja again scored from six yards out to bring a running clock into play, at 48-8. Umoja’s second touchdown was setup by a Liam Crouse interception.
Dulaney added a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to make the final score respectable.
The Lions (1-1) will look to regroup when they return home next Friday for a Baltimore County match-up with Pikesville, while the Dons will remain at Blakefield to face another ranked opponent, as No. 11 Howard pays a visit.
