Duo combines for 48 as the Lakers win their first

BL junior Jake Nichols scored 24 in the Lakers’ 71-51 win over Severn.

The Boys’ Latin basketball team, a bonafide Top 10 power, bounced back from a season opening loss to St. Maria Goretti, Monday, with a convincing 71-51 non-conference MIAA win over Severn School of the MIAA B Conference.
The host Lakers (1-1) were led by junior Jake Nichols’ 24 points and junior Will Spencer’s 21. The combined 48 points by Nichols and Spencer was just a three-pointer shy of equaling the entire Severn team.
Seniors Cameron Watts and Sam Grace combined for 13 more for the Lakers.
Senior AJ Burch was the high-point man for Severn with 18 and Micaiah Terry netted 15 points for the Admirals, who were playing their season opener.
