The finals are set, but weather has again pitched a shutout in the MIAA baseball double elimination tournament. Monday’s A & B conference final round games at Ripken Stadium has been postponed due to rain.
Both games, weather permitting, will take place Tuesday at Ripken. Severn School will take on Boys’ Latin School in the B championship at 4:15 p.m., followed by Gilman School and top-ranked Archbishop Spalding in the A bracket finals.
Severn advanced to the B finals with an 8-4 victory over Glenelg Country School Monday afternoon at the Ripken complex’s Yankee Stadium, in the completion of Sunday’s contest at Calvert Hall. The Admirals led 8-4 with one out in the bottom of the sixth early Sunday evening when poor mound conditions forced a stoppage.
The final five outs were recorded on Monday, but with rain including thunderstorms in the forecast for the remainder of the afternoon and evening hours, Ripken Stadium officials decided to postpone the start of the championship round.
