The MIAA soccer playoffs will get underway on Tuesday in all three conferences, with quarterfinal games in the A, B and C Confernces.
In the A Conference, McDononogh and Gilman have earned the first and second seeds, respectively, and will have opening round byes. The Eagles and Greyhounds will host semifinal games on Thursday.
Archbishop Curley finished as the third seed and will host sixth-seed John Carroll on Tuesday, while fourth-seeded Loyola will entertain fifth-seeded Mount St. Joseph. The Curley/John Carroll winner will then play at Gilman, while McDonogh will host the Loyola/St. Joe survivor.
In the B Conference, defending champion St. Paul’s went undefeated in league play to earn the top seed and Severn finished second. Those clubs will have the first round byes.
Third-seeded Friends will host sixth-seeded St. Mary’s in one quarterfinal, while fifth-seeded Park will travel to fourth-seeded Boys’ Latin.
St. Paul’s will get the Park/BL winner, while Severn will host the Friends/St. Mary’s winner.
The C Conference is comprised of two divisions and the byes go to the two division winners – Gerstell Academy (Black) and Saints Peter & Paul (Red).
In the quarterfinals, Indian Creek (second in the red division) will host Key School (3rd in the black), while Chapelgate Christian (2nd in the black) will host Mount Carmel, the third seed from the Red Division. The Red’s third seed will not be determined until the conclusion of today’s final regular season game between Cristo Rey and Mount Carmel.
