No. 4 McDonogh broke open a one goal game by shutting out No. 7 Calvert Hall over the final two quarters, Friday in Owings Mills, to pull away for a 9-4 MIAA A Conference lacrosse win over the visiting Cardinals.

The Eagles (14-3, 6-2) were paced by two goals each from Robby Black, Trey McGee and Connor Young.  Bobby Austin,  Robert Clark and Dewey Senft each had one score for McDonogh.  Austin, Clark, Young and Senft were among the Eagles who contributed assists.

In goal, Jacob Stover, son of former Baltimore Ravens All-Pro kicker Matt Stover, made 12 saves for McDonogh.

Timmy Kelly scored twice in the first half for Calvert Hall (12-5, 4-4) and added an assist.
