The 2017 boys’ lacrosse season is winding down as this week marks several public league finals as well as the start of the state public tournament. Towson and Mount St. Joseph are new entrants in the VSN’s boys’ lacrosse Top 20.

Towson debuts at No. 16. The Generals will finish their Baltimore County title match with No. 11 Hereford Monday afternoon after a medical emergency stopped play in the fourth quarter Saturday.

Despite only three victories, Mount St. Joseph makes the poll at 18th after knocking previously ranked Archbishop Spalding. The Gaels have been competitive in the MIAA A Conference, the nation’s toughest high school league, pushing No. 2 Boys’ Latin School a couple of weeks ago.

The Lakers visit top-ranked Calvert Hall College Tuesday in a showdown of the MIAA A’s only undefeated teams. The winner will gain the inside track for the top-seed in the upcoming postseason tournament.

In addition to the completion of the Baltimore County final Monday, No. 4 Severna Park and 13th-ranked Broadneck meet at North County for the Anne Arundel crown while City College and Mervo vie for the Baltimore City Division I trophy at Dunbar.
