Loyola Blakefield is often over-matched in the size department against its MIAA A Conference/Baltimore Catholic League basketball rivals, but the Dons will use that reality as weapon.

“We will use a guard heavy lineup to try to present matchup problems against bigger teams,” said 12th year head Josh Davalli. “Team play and hard work will continue to be important for the team.”

Senior guard Kenny Lewis is Loyola’s top returning scoring, averaging 12 points per game last season, while junior Cameron Shaw returns with a 7 ppg. average. Developing different scoring options is going to be a key to the team’s success according to Davalli.

“There is a good balance of shooters and slashers who can make plays at the basket,” said Davalli. “Other keys to success will be the ability to defend and rebound against bigger teams.”
