No. 6 Loyola bounced back from an upset loss to John Carroll, last Friday, to get back in the MIAA A Conference win column, with a 2-0 soccer victory over St Paul’s, Wednesday at Blakefield.
Loyola (3-3, 3-3) got both of its goals in the first half. Alex Reide, on a great cross from Marcei Desormeaux, guided a header off the crossbar and in the net.
Desormeaux then got the second goal, on a wonderful combination at the top of the box. Desormeaux beat a defender before sliding the ball home.
Neither team managed to find the back of the net in the second half. Loyola keeper Chris Karpovich had two saves for the shout out. Colin Doeller had eight saves for St. Paul’s (1-5, 1-5).
