Cardinals rebound with a 14-4 win at Mount St. Joe

Having lost two of its last three games, the Calvert Hall lacrosse team needed someone to step forward and produce some offense and, Tuesday at Mount St. Joseph, Ethan Long answered that call with an eight-point performance in the Cardinals’ 14-4 win over the Gaels.

Long netted three goals and handed out five assists during the visit to Irvington, and he got plenty of support.

Shuey Kelly and Jordan Wray each also scored a hat-trick while combining for three assists, while Mic Kelly played distributor with four assists. Jojo Dean also scored twice for Calvert Hall (3-2 overall, 3-2 MIAA A) and Payton Booth, Noah Brannock and Nick Steele had one score each.

The Cardinals did most of their damage in the first half, as they built and 8-2 lead on the Gaels (3-5, 0-5).

Maddux Wilson had two goals and an assist for St. Joe. The Gaels also received one goal and one assist from Dylan Wilson, a goal from Finn Schmidt and two assists from Willie Bateman.
