Four players scored in double figures, Monday, as the John Carroll boys’ basketball team survived a tough test from visiting Severn, prevailing 73-70, in a non-league MIAA contest in Bel Air.
It was the second win of the young season for the Patriots, who were led by Cameron Byers’ 18 points and 6 rebounds.
Nigel Haughton added 16 points, while Montez Mathis and Nate Roberts combined for 25 points and 14 rebounds.
Severn star LJ Owens scored a game-high 26 points, including a 14-of-15 performance from the free throw line. Mo Terry scored 16 points for the Admirals, who were playing their season opener, and Jake Lilly also reached double figures with 10 points.
