No. 12 John Carroll has made its way back to Johns Hopkins’ Homewood Field where it has earned the right to defend the MIAA B Conference lacrosse championship it won in 2015. The Patriots, undefeated in league play this spring, advanced with a 19-11 victory over Archbishop Curley, the team in faced in last year’s final, Tuesday evening in Bel Air.

In Tuesday’s other semifinal, 2nd-seeded Glenelg Country advanced to the championship game with an 11-7 win over Friends School. The Patriots and Dragons will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Friday at Hopkins.

Despite the 8 goal victory, John Carroll (18-6) struggled in the first half against the Friars (6-11), trailing by two at the end of one quarter and holding a narrow 8-6 advantage at the half, before quickly pulling away in the third quarter.

Senior midfielder Jimmy Schall paced the Patriots with 3 goals, all in the second half.  Dean Laponzina finished with 10 saves in goal.
