Patriots overcome a 10-point first half deficit

On the road at John Carroll, Loyola Blakefield jumped out to a 10-0 first half lead, Friday night in Bel Air, but the JC defense blanked the Dons the rest of the way and rallied for a 13-10 MIAA non-conference football victory.

A 37-yard first quarter field goal and a touchdown, early in the second quarter, gave the Dons (0-2) the early advantage, but John Carroll got on the board, later in the second, when its defense recovered a Loyola fumble in the end zone for a touchdown. The Dons led at the half 10-6.

The Patriots (2-0) went in front, 13-10, in the third quarter on a rushing touchdown by Dalen Berry and the defense made it stand-up.

John Carroll intercepted three Loyola passes, including one by Danny Schall in the end zone as time expired.
