The Moose tops Friends for C Conference crown
Jemicy’s run of MIAA C Conference golf championships was paused in 2020 by the COVID-19 pandemic, but the Moose picked up in 2021 where they left off in 2019, winning the school’s third consecutive league title, Saturday at Greenspring Valley Hunt Club, with an 11.5-9.5 win over Friends School.
No. 2 player Jayven Hull led the way for Jemicy by capturing three points and he combined with No. 1 player Zach Burton to secure half of a team point in the first pairing. No. 3 Dixon Colston and No. 4 Blake Levy combined to claim 4-/12 points and they also got the team point in the second pairing. Rounding out the lineup, No. 5 Jacob Elkins won a half point and No. 6 Kilburn Russon collected two points for the Moose.
”What a privilege it was to watch the team bring home their third championship,” said Jemicy head coach Will Guy. “Despite the rigorous schedule due to COVID time constraints, the whole squad demonstrated a supreme example of determination to reach their ultimate desired destination: the championships.
“Our season would not have been possible were it not for the flexibility of the parents, the Jemicy School, the coaching staff, and our home course, Greenspring Valley Hunt Club. Thank you all.”
