The playoff race in the Red Division of the MIAA B Conference figures to be a barn burner down this winter and that was certainly the case, Monday, as two division rivals put on a thriller in Crownsville with host Indian Creek edging St. Mary’s, 62-60, in overtime.

The victorious got three-point field goals, in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter, from Zion Chase and DaVon Beckford to help erase a six-point lead by the Saints and force the overtime, where ICS took an early lead and never trailed again.

Malik McKinney and Beckford teamed up to score 18 and 17 points, respectively, to lead Indian Creek (4-8, 2-1) with Chase just behind them with 15 points.

St. Mary’s sophomore star Josh Wallace sliced his way through the the Indian Creek defense all night, helping his team to a 32-26 halftime lead and finishing with a team-high 32 points.
