Curley, Friends and Saints Peter & Paul also reach semifinals, as top four seeds advance; Updated bracket here
In a MIAA B Conference lacrosse playoff thriller in Crownsville, 4th-seeded Indian Creek battled from behind to edge 5th-seeded Park, 15-14, on Friday, to advance to the tournament semifinals on Tuesday.
Nick Stroble scored three goals, including two in the final three minutes, which helped the Eagles tie and then take a 14-13 lead. ICS stretched their lead to two on a score by Roddy House and settled for a one goal victory after Park got back within in the final seconds.
Stroble finished with a hat-trick, while Will Mercer scored five times for the Eagles and Cole Turner had four goals and two assists.
Indian Creek advances to Tuesday’s semifinals and it will play at top-seeded Archbishop Curley, on Tuesday. The Friars, which are undefeated in B Conference play this season, rolled over 8th-seeded Gerstell Academy, 21-5, in their quarterfinal game.
The other two quarterfinal games were also lopsided affairs. On Thursday, 3rd-seeded Saints Peter & Paul routed Glenelg Country, 18-2, and, on Friday, 2nd-seeded Friends rolled over Annapolis Area Christian, 18-6.
Saints Peter & Paul will now visit Friends on Tuesday in the other semifinal. Tuesday’s winners will meet next Friday at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium (5:00 pm) in Annapolis, in the championship game.2021 B Lacrosse Bracket Semis
