Looking for an upset, Cristo Rey traveled to Annapolis, Wednesday evening, and rolled out to an 18-11 first quarter lead on St. Mary’s. The host Saints, however, pulled within one at the half and took charge in the third quarter of what would become a 72-57 victory in a non-league MIAA basketball game.
Josh Wallace led the Saints with 22 points and Hank Ferraro hit a pair of three pointer on his way to 12 points. Keegan Smith also got into double-digits for the Saints (2-2), scoring 10 points.
Cristo Rey’s Tim Peterson led all scorers, hitting four three-pointers and scoring 25 points. Jakai Jones also had a big night for the Hornets (1-4), scoring 21 points.
