After three consecutive trips to the MIAA A Conference playoffs, including an appearance in the 2013 semifinals, Gilman soccer has been shutout of the postseason the last two years. However, the Greyhounds, with seven starters back, are aiming for the second season once again.

“We are determined to get back to the playoffs,” said head coach Jon Seal, who is entering his 13th season with the Hounds. “With 12 seniors returning, I am expecting us to be competitive this year. We need to focus on working hard to improve every day and remain positive throughout the season.”

Gilman’s strength builds from the back and starts with All-MIAA senior center back Sam Tirone. Fellow senior Clayton Hebert also helps stabilize the back, while seniors Luke Wulff and Matthew Katz, who scored several big goals in 2015, lead the midfield.

“If we want to be successful this year, we will have to earn it,” added Seal. “No one is going to give it to us.”
