On the road in Brooklandville for its basketball season opener, Tuesday, Gilman rallied from a 15-point second half deficit to edge the host Crusaders, 67-65, in a MIAA non-league contest.

Seeking the upset, St. Paul’s (0-1) was hot early and surged to a 53-38 lead, late in the third quarter. Gilman, however, outscored the Crusaders 29-12 the rest of the way.

Jalen Rucker netted 22 points for Gilman to lead all scorers, while Donald Duncan and Brandon Madison added 13 and 11 points, respectively.
