Sabres win a shootout with Glenelg Country, 11-8

Saints Peter & Paul and Glenelg Country opened the MIAA B Conference ice hockey season, Friday at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel, and the visiting Sabres prevailed, 11-8, behind an eight goal outburst from Hunter Hoffman.

Hoffman scored twice in the opening period as the Sabres built a 5-2 lead and then scored all five of his team’s goals over the final two periods to help Saints Peter & Paul stay in front of the Dragons.

Peyton Ridgely had four goals and two assists to lead Glenelg Country. Zach Schulman added three goals and three assists for the Dragons and Jackson Pacylowski had three helpers.

Drew Roth had 35 saves in the Glenelg Country cage.
