Former Mount St. Joseph hoops star Bishop leaves LSU for George Washington
James Bishop, who was the Baltimore Catholic League Player of the Year at Mount St. Joseph High in 2019 before matriculating to Louisiana State University, is transferring from Southeastern Conference school to George Washington.
Bishop averaged 3.1 points in 16 appearances as a freshman this past season for LSU. The 6-foot-2 guard reportedly entered the NCAA’s transfer portal last week.
Bishop was a four-year starter at Mount St. Joseph where he was part of a record 126 victories. He averaged 23.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 steals in his senior season, and finished with 2,106 career points.
Bishop will have sit out the 2020-21 season at George Washington, which went 12-21 this past season. He could be reunited with former Gael teammate Tyler Brelsford, who will be an incoming freshman for the Colonials in 20-21.
