Junior comes up with four individual victories as Cardinals defeat Mount St. Joseph


The Calvert Hall varsity track & field team opened its 2021 season with 91-51 home win over Mount St. Joseph, on Friday, with sophomore Daniel Harper, Jr. leading the way.

Harper, the son of Cardinals coach Daniel Harper, Sr., sprinted to victories in the 100 (22.98) and 200 meters (10.98) and leapt 21-9 to win the long jump. Harper also anchored Calvert Hall’s winning 4×100 relay squad, which posted a time of 44.77.

In addition, junior Garik Pozecki swept the throws with victories in the shot put (48-1) and discus (141’), while junior Charlie Dance captured the 3,200 meters with a personal best time of 9:53.84.
