Big fourth quarter lifts Gaels to a 65-48 road win
On opening night in the Baltimore Catholic League, St. Maria Goretti traveled from Hagerstown to Calvert Hall, Monday, and used a big fourth quarter surge to close out the host Cardinals, 65-48, in BCL basketball action.
Goretti outscored Calvert Hall 23-10 in the final stanza as RJ Blakney scored 10 of his game-high 27 points. Blakney connected for four three-pointers on the evening. Prezemenk Golek added 14 points, while Josh Mack had 5 assists and 7 points. In addition, Marial Mading and Abdou Tsimbila combined for 15 rebounds.
Darius Tillghman led the Cardinals with 13 points, followed closely by 12 from Bendan Adams and 11 from Logan Curtis.
