Jalen Gabbidon and Isaiah Burnett each scored 19 points, and Caidon Owen finished with 18 as No. 13 Glenelg Country School posted a 79-72 victory over Archbishop Spalding in a MIAA A Conference basketball contest in Severn Sunday afternoon.

Down 37-34 at halftime, the Dragons (13-5 overall) scored 45 second half points to even its MIAA A mark at 5-5. Gabbidon and Burnett combined to score 24 points over the final two quarters. 

Chase Paar added 12 for Glenelg Country. Buzz Anthony led all scorers with 29 points for Spalding (8-10). 

Glenelg Country moves a half-game ahead of No. 11 Boys’ Latin School for third-place in the MIAA A Black Division. Though falling to 3-6 in the Red Division, Spalding is still in the hunt for a postseason berth as the Cavaliers, St. Vincent Pallotti (4-4), Mount Carmel (4-4), Calvert Hall College (5-5) and St. Frances Academy (2-5) are separated by just two games in the loss column.  

No. 6 McDonogh School (8-1) leads the Red. Glenelg Country next plays at St. Frances Academy Wednesday.
