After giving up two runs in the top of the ninth, No. 15 Gilman scores three to claim a 6-5 MIAA A win

Tyler Martinez drew a bases loaded walk, with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, capping a three-run rally by No. 15 Gilman, which gave the Greyhounds a 6-5 come-from-behind win over No. 4 John Carroll in MIAA A Conference baseball action.

Gilman (6-3, 2-0 MIAA A) staged the winning rally without benefit of a base-hit, loading the bases with two outs with an error, a walk and an intentional walk. The first two runs of the frame were chased home when Danny Rosenfield and Ryan Williamson were hit by pitches on consecutive at bats before Martinez drew his winning walk, after falling behind in the count, 1 ball, two strikes.

Sean Fasano had given John Carroll the lead when he delivered a two-out two-run double in the top of the ninth. Nico Santoro also drove in two runs for the Patriots (6-1, 0-1 MIAA A) with a double and Stelio Stakias also had an RBI double.

Gilman only had two hits in the contest but took advantage of 12 John Carroll walks, two hit batters and five errors.
